Our Editorial Mission
Local SEO suffers from a massive volume of guesswork. Agency owners and in-house marketers waste thousands of hours chasing algorithm myths. We built Local SEO Ranking Factors Pro to stop the bleeding. Our mission is simple. We publish empirical local search data. We test ranking variables across hundreds of Google Business Profiles. Then we share the exact mechanisms that move the needle.
We don’t publish theory.
If we haven’t tested a tactic across multiple geographic markets and business categories, we don’t write about it. You need to know if changing a primary GBP category tanks your map pack visibility. We give you the high-resolution data to make that call.
How We Choose Topics
We ignore the noise.
We build our editorial calendar around the actual friction points local SEO practitioners face daily. Our topics come from three specific sources.
- Live SERP Volatility. When the local pack layout shifts or proximity signals tighten, we investigate immediately.
- Practitioner Roadblocks. We monitor the exact issues agency owners struggle with. Suspended profiles. Filtered reviews. NAP consistency failures across tier-one aggregators.
- Data Gaps. If a local ranking factor lacks empirical testing, we build a test environment and run the numbers.
We never write generic overviews. If a topic doesn’t require deep data analysis, we skip it entirely.
Research and Fact-Checking Standards
Data integrity is our entire business model. A single bad recommendation costs a local business its primary revenue source.
Every claim we publish goes through a strict verification protocol. We cross-reference our internal ranking data with established local search tracking tools. We monitor rank positions across specific zip codes. We isolate variables carefully. If we test the impact of review velocity on a plumbing client in Chicago, we control for citation consistency and on-page signals.
We don’t blindly trust Google documentation. We test it. When Google says a specific field doesn’t impact rankings, we run a controlled test to verify that statement. If our data contradicts the official line, we publish our findings with the receipts attached.
Corrections Policy
We get things wrong. The local algorithm shifts constantly. When our data becomes outdated or we make an analytical error, we fix it fast.
If you spot a flaw in our methodology, email our editorial team at [email protected]. We review all challenges within 48 hours. If you bring valid data that disproves our findings, we update the piece.
We don’t stealth-edit our mistakes. Every corrected article receives a visible log at the top of the page. We state exactly what we changed, why we changed it, and when the correction occurred.
Transparency builds trust.
Affiliate and Commercial Relationships
Running large-scale local SEO tests requires capital. We fund this site through affiliate partnerships and software recommendations.
If you click a link to a rank tracker, citation builder, or review management platform, we earn a commission. That financial relationship never dictates our test results. We buy the software ourselves. We run it through our own agency workflows. If a highly-paying affiliate tool fails to index citations properly, we publish that failure.
We reject all sponsored posts. We don’t accept payment to feature a tool in our top recommendations. You can’t buy a positive review on this site.
Editorial Independence
Our editorial team operates in total isolation from our commercial partners. Software vendors don’t get early access to our reviews. They don’t get veto power over our data.
We own our testing environments. We own our data sets. The only people who influence our publishing schedule are the practitioners running the tests. If an established local SEO tool releases a broken feature, we cover it. We protect our readers, not our industry relationships.
Content Updates and Freshness
Stale data is dangerous data. A tactic that dominated the map pack last spring will trigger a manual penalty today.
We audit our core ranking factor guides every 90 days. We verify that the mechanisms we recommend still work in live search environments. If an update rolls out and neutralizes a specific optimization strategy, we flag the affected articles immediately.
Look at the top of any guide on our site. You’ll see an exact “Last Tested” date. That date means a human practitioner reviewed the data, checked the current SERPs, and verified the accuracy of the claims.
We don’t leave dead tactics online to collect traffic. We update them or we delete them.
